The Student’s Book consists of 24 units, two “special occasions” classes: “Christmas” and “Easter,” and an introductory lesson. Each unit includes various exercises developing listening comprehension, reading, speaking and writing skills. They often employ authentic materials, such as diagrams, leaflets, restaurant menus, cinema schedules, train or bus timetables, departures /arrivals boards, exchange rates etc. The texts included in the coursebook are modelled on original texts, and the dialogues imitate everyday situations. The selection of the grammatical material as well as the order in which it is introduced conform to the linguistic practice, and grammar is never trained in isolation from the lexis presented in a given lesson. Memorisation of grammar rules is made easier by clear and logical tables at the end of the book. The Student’s Book also includes a complete course in Polish phonetics with recordings, inspired by Barbara Karczmarczuk’s book Wymowa polska z ćwiczeniami (Polish Pronunciation with Exercises).
